Overview

Fire prevention, fire-protection systems, and fire-safe operation of buildings. The operational counterpart to the IBC's construction rules.

Why it matters

IFC governs fire-lane geometry, hydrant spacing, aerial-apparatus access, high-piled storage, and occupant-load triggers for sprinklers and alarms. Fire-marshal sign-off is an IFC conversation.
