Quirks & watch-items
Quirks & watch-items
- MA fire code primary is NFPA 1 (527 CMR 1.00) effective Dec 9, 2022 — but 780 CMR also references specific 2021 IFC sections, so IFC 2021 is in effect for building-code purposes
- Electrical code is on a separate cycle: NEC 2023 effective Feb 17, 2023 (well before the 10th edition building code)
- Many cities have adopted the optional Specialized Stretch Energy Code (225 CMR 23.00) on top of the base IECC
