Quirks & watch-items
Quirks & watch-items
- Oregon calls its building code the "Oregon Structural Specialty Code" (OSSC) — NOT "IBC"
- OSSC is based on IBC but with OR-specific amendments
- Portland is the local administrator per ORS 455.148
- 6-month phase-in periods between old and new codes
- Oregon does NOT adopt IBC Chapters 32 and parts of 33 — Portland adopted these separately via local ordinance
- Oregon uses UPC/UMC not IPC/IMC
