Research notes

Fort Smith ANGB (188th Wing — formerly A-10, now MQ-9 ISR) is co-located with Fort Smith Regional Airport (FSM) under a joint-use agreement. Ebbing AFRC was selected in 2023 as the U.S. F-16 Foreign Military Sales pilot training center (and later Singapore F-35 training), substantially expanding the AICUZ noise contours and the Sebastian County JLUS coordination. Fort Chaffee (Sebastian/Franklin counties) was BRAC-closed in 1995 but retains military training-use easements; the Fort Chaffee Redevelopment Authority manages the broader compatible-use overlay covering the cantonment area. Pine Bluff Arsenal (Jefferson County) is the only other active Arkansas DoD installation but operates under chemical-stockpile demilitarization closure rather than active flight operations.
