Ark. Code Ann. §§13-7-501 et seq. (Arkansas Historic Preservation Program within Department of Arkansas Heritage); 54 USC §306108 (NHPA Section 106); Ark. Code §26-51-2202 (state historic rehabilitation tax credit)
§ §§13-7-501 et seq.
Research notes
AHPP is the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) for Arkansas. State Register listing is honorary plus tax-credit qualifying; the binding regulatory hooks are (a) federal Section 106 / NHPA when a federal nexus is present, and (b) local historic-district overlays adopted under Ark. Code §14-172-201 et seq. (Certified Local Governments). Major National Register districts: Little Rock (MacArthur Park, Quapaw Quarter, Capitol View), Hot Springs (Central Avenue Bathhouse Row — also NHL), Eureka Springs (entire town NRHD), Fayetteville (Mount Nord, Wilson Park), Helena (Cherry Street), Camden, Pine Bluff, Van Buren. CLG cities have local design-review boards under municipal overlay authority.
