Research notes

Local governments may adopt appearance/dimensional standards (roof pitch, siding, skirting, min width, foundation) for MH but no more restrictive than site-built in same district. Federal HUD Code (24 CFR Part 3280) preempts state/local construction standards for manufactured homes — federal conflict check applies. Modular homes receive stronger protection and are SF dwellings by right wherever SF is permitted. Cross-referenced by §160D-702(c)(5).
