Research notes
Statutory enabling authority for township zoning in unincorporated territory. Parallel to Chapter 713 for municipalities. The township enabling statute is the origin of several substantive preemptions (agricultural use §519.21, permanently sited manufactured homes §519.212) that do NOT extend to municipal corporations. Counties have parallel authority under Chapter 303.
